Born in Paris in 1992, Gabriel is a pianist appreciated for the finesse of his playing and the depth of his interpretations.
Noted for his daring program choices, Gabriel won the “Diapason d'Or avec le choix d'arte” for his recording of the Transcendental Études for Mirare, among many other distinctions in the specialized press.
His first recording, devoted to J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations and released on the Lyrinx label, was praised by France Musique for its “concentration, intellect and lofty vision”.
The great music critic and journalist Alain Lompech praised him, notably on Bachtrack and Classica. Diapason magazine awards him 5 Diapasons.
Trained at Geneva's HEM in Cédric Pescia's class, Gabriel obtained a Master de Concert, and continued his piano studies with Eliso Virsaladze in Florence.
He then spent three years perfecting his skills with Nelson Goerner in the prestigious Master de Soliste program at the HEM in Geneva.
In November 2023, Gabriel Stern was awarded the Carolina Pajonk Prize.
This rare and prestigious prize is awarded to a pianist of high and fine musicality who has brilliantly completed his Master Soloist.

The Transcendental Études vehemently express Liszt's passions and feelings. To experience them is to shake the world and reveal oneself.
The light emanating from the Goldberg Variations is unique and overwhelming. My encounter with this work was an illumination.
